Amy Michaelson Kelly Speaks at Invest Atlanta Opportunity Zone Summit

Amy Michaelson Kelly spoke at the Invest Atlanta Opportunity Zone Summit Thursday, September 19, 2019. Ms. Kelly spoke on the Opportunity Zones Community Forum panel alongside James Carras of Carras Community Investment and Mark Elliot of SC Opportunity Fund.

The event was held from 9:30am until 12:00 noon at the Georgia Tech Research Institute Conference Center located at 250 14th Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

About Opportunity Zones

First designated on April 9, 2018, Qualified Opportunity Zones encompassed 18 states. As of January 2019, Opportunity Zones now have designations in all 50 states, including the District of Columbia and U.S. territories such as Puerto Rico. There are currently 260 Opportunity Zones in the state of Georgia, as designated by former governor Nathan Deal.

Prior to joining Sixty West, Ms. Kelly practiced law for 10 years in Atlanta, Georgia, and spent most of her career at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, an international Am Law 15 law firm. In private practice, Ms. Kelly represented large companies and government entities in complex litigation involving real estate development and other business ventures.

As a founding principal at Hatteras Sky, Ms. Kelly has been instrumental in launching Hatteras Sky’s Opportunity Zone program, participating in the identification of targeted investments and the design of one of the nation’s first Opportunity Zone funds. Ms. Kelly is a frequent speaker on Opportunity Zone investment topics and educates participants in all areas of real estate development on the Opportunity Zone legislation.
