The Radical is Asheville’s Newest Boutique Hotel. Bold, Rebelliously Glamorous and Opening this October

Asheville, North Carolina (JULY 24, 2023)The Radical, a bold, daring new boutique hotel is set to join the River Arts District this fall. Now accepting reservations for stays as of October 8, 2023, The Radical transforms a once abandoned 1920s’ warehouse into Asheville’s newest destination, introducing 70 unmistakable guest rooms and suites alongside ambitiously original culinary concepts. Owned by Hatteras Sky and operated by Lark Hotels, The Radical is more than just another boutique hotel. An unexpected collection of spaces, uses, businesses, offerings (and yes, hotel rooms) will reflect the fiercely independent and artistic communities of Asheville. Inspired by the River Arts District’s RAD moniker, The Radical will bring together a collective of buzzing energy, creative characters, and shared experiences designed to inspire locals and travelers alike to be fearlessly radical.

The 70-room contemporary hotel and living art installation breathes new life into a once abandoned building while preserving beautiful evidence of its past lives — from a 1920s breakfast cereal factory to a graffiti artists’ vacant paradise. With rebel luxe interiors by Suomi Design Works, the hotel’s richly layered design effortlessly melds with towering raw concrete pillars, exposed brick walls, and original street art, including work from decades past as well as modern additions. Paired with distinctive guest touch points created by Might & Main, the result is a place that feels like nowhere else — you might not know exactly when (or where) you are, but a flute of rare vintage bubbly and a bag of salty potato chips feels right. Simultaneously spectacular and ultimately approachable, The Radical will be a decadent and welcoming destination for all within the gritty RAD neighborhood.

The Radical will serve as a culinary journey in and of itself, introducing original dining and bar concepts helmed by celebrated local Asheville chef and restaurateur, Jacob Sessoms. The hotel will also be home to an outdoor courtyard with multiple terraces perfect for events, weddings, and community programming.

The opening of The Radical expands on Lark Independent’s footprint in North Carolina, joining seven total properties in the Southeast operating under the boutique hospitality brand’s third party management services. On the heels of The Radical opening, Lark Hotels and Hatteras Sky will also introduce an artful love letter to Asheville with the opening of Zelda Dearest, a 20-room boutique hotel inspired by the passion, style, vibrancy and intoxicating personality of Zelda Fitzgerald.

The Radical is now accepting reservations for stays beginning October 8, 2023 with prices starting at $239. For additional details and bookings, please visit: https://www.theradicalavl.com/
